Gulf Coast Education
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. has always been committed to scholarship, and our Gulf Coast Region is no exception. We strive to support our members in their educational pursuits and encourage them to provide the same support to their communities. Our chapters work to promote education advancement and offer opportunities for personal growth and development. We believe that education leads to empowerment and success, and we are dedicated to helping our members reach their full potential.
College Scholarships
We understand that the cost of college is only increasing thus making it harder to attain for many. Thus, we hope that the scholarships offered by our national body and regional bodies can help our brothers on their educational journeys. Please apply for these scholarships early as deadlines are to be met.
Some Basic Requirements

This award is provided to Sigma Men who are financial for the current year (2023) and pursuing a degree, and meet all criteria listed in this application form

Be currently admitted and attending an accredited college or university

Must be a financial member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., in good standing

Must have a GPA of 2.75 or better (on a 4.0 scale) from the Fall 2022 to Spring/Summer 2023.

Must submit an unofficial transcript

The file names for the essay response, transcript, resume, recommendation letter, and headshot must include your first and last name and what it is. (Example: Marcus Chanay Essay Response)

​Must submit a completely executed and signed Sigma Scholarship application

Gulf Coast Region - Hour of Code
With the advancement of technology in our society, it is vital for our younger generations to take advantage of the resources available to capitalize on future opportunities. Thus, we heavily support the hour of code initiative to encourage our youth to develop the necessary skills to have a productive life.
National University
National University is proud to partner with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity and bring a 25% Tuition Reduction Scholarship to members looking to expand their knowledge and skills for professional and personal growth. The Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Tuition Reduction Scholarship is a great benefit for working adults who want to reach specific educational goals but find it challenging to fit classes into their busy lives.

In addition, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity and National University are extending a 15% Tuition Reduction Scholarship for all Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity members’ spouses and dependents. The tuition reduction scholarship can be applied to associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degree programs.
